The Building:
Breaking the pathogen cycle on every surface

Biofilm is an invisible microbial fortress. Disinfection applied directly on biofilm is a wasted investment. Our sequential protocols guarantee a truly sterile surface.

The Building:

The Problem

Biofilm is an invisible protective layer produced by bacteria that adheres to livestock building surfaces (floors, equipment, pipes, walls) and acts as a barrier against disinfectants.

When a disinfectant is applied to an intact biofilm, its action often remains superficial, allowing pathogens such as Salmonella, E. coli, or Campylobacter to survive.

This persistent contamination has direct consequences on livestock performance: increased mortality, decreased zootechnical performance, and an increased risk of bacterial resistance.

In Tunisia, heat and humidity conditions accelerate the reformation of biofilm, sometimes in just 24 to 48 hours.

Our Protocol

Step 01

CLORAGRO

Alkaline Chlorinated Detergent Disinfectant

CLORAGRO is a high-performance alkaline chlorinated detergent designed for the mechanical and chemical destruction of organic biofilm. Its mode of action relies on three simultaneous mechanisms: fat saponification, protein denaturation and destruction of the biofilm polysaccharide matrix.

  • Fat saponification and dissolution of lipid residues
  • Protein denaturation — destruction of biofilm biological structures
  • Recommended dilution: 2% to 5% depending on soiling level
  • Contact time: 15 to 20 minutes — foam or low pressure application
  • Mandatory PPE: goggles, gloves, boots, coverall

⚠ MANDATORY RINSING — Critical intermediate step

After CLORAGRO application, a complete rinse with potable water is MANDATORY before any OPTIMAGRO application. This requirement is chemical: chlorinated residues from CLORAGRO are incompatible with OPTIMAGRO's glutaraldehyde. Direct contact would neutralize both active agents. Rinse all surfaces thoroughly until visual elimination of any residual foam. Check surface pH if necessary (neutral pH required).

Step 02

OPTIMAGRO

Full Spectrum Biocide Disinfectant

OPTIMAGRO combines Glutaraldehyde and Quaternary Ammonium for full-spectrum terminal disinfection. It is applied exclusively on a previously cleaned and rinsed surface. Its action is bactericidal, virucidal and fungicidal with extended residual activity up to 7 days.

  • Full spectrum: Bactericidal, Virucidal, Fungicidal
  • Targets: Salmonella, E. coli, Newcastle, Gumboro, Aspergillus
  • Residual activity up to 7 days between flocks
  • Dilution: 2% — low pressure or spray application
  • Minimum 4h ventilation before animal reintroduction

Technical FAQ

No. CLORAGRO is a corrosive alkaline chlorinated product. It is used exclusively during the sanitary downtime, in the total absence of animals. Full PPE (goggles, gloves, boots, coverall) is mandatory for the operator.

There is no fixed time delay, but a technical prerequisite: complete and thorough rinsing of all surfaces is mandatory between the two products. Rinse water must be potable. Verify absence of residual foam before applying OPTIMAGRO.

Yes. OPTIMAGRO is compatible with stainless steel, aluminum, PVC, concrete and tiled surfaces. It does not corrode metals at recommended dilutions (2%). Avoid prolonged contact with untreated zinc.

For CLORAGRO at 2%: plan approximately 200 to 300 liters of solution (200 to 300 mL/m² of floor surface, plus walls). For OPTIMAGRO at 2%: approximately 150 to 200 liters of solution by low pressure spray. These volumes vary according to surface porosity and geometry.

No. OPTIMAGRO must never be mixed with other chemical products, particularly chlorinated products (including CLORAGRO), strong acids or iodine-based products. Mixing can generate dangerous chemical reactions and neutralize the biocidal effect.
